Understanding the animation industry and its products.
The assessment criteria is a PASS
Deadline 16th November 2020
P1 Learners explore the animation industry through a focused case study of one animation company. For a PASS mark students need to include the following research;
company structure, media applications, types of animations, regulatory bodies.
1. Name the company. Students choose a company.
For example/ Blue Sky Studios(american company) or Aardman (UK based animation studio).
2. Use the structure below. Copy and paste this onto your blog and complete.
a) Company Structure - Students write about the company. This means they write about ownership, Founders,
CEO's and company size and successes.
Students can create a Piktochart diagram or Poster if they choose to do so to represent the company structure.
b) Media Applications - Students write about the company applications, production processes.
i.e Film, TV, Internet, publications.
c) Types of Animations - Students write about the types of animation they create.
Is it predominantly CGI? 2D-animation? stop motion? Rotoscoping? etc.
d) Regulatory Bodies - How do regulatory bodies affect the company?
Has there been anything in the news that links the company to regulation.
Some examples are copyrights, certification. BBFC, Ofcom, self-regulation.
For example/
Aardman is a British based animation studio, founded in 1972. Their main offices are located in Bristol.
They are well known for the award winning animation of Wallace and Gromit.
The Animation style is stop (clay) motion. The founders are Nick Park, Peter Lord and David Sproxton.
Other productions include Shaun the Sheep and Morph…… and so on.
